Fees, Rebates, Reports and Cancellations
Fees
To get the most from your therapy, it is strongly encouraged to maintain consistent attendance to consolidate new learning to create long-lasting change. Depending on your goals, individual and relationship therapy often involves attending at least 6-10 sessions. For severe or chronic mental health challenges, more frequent sessions on a regular schedule are recommended.
Adelaide Health Psychology is a private practice, and is unfortunately not able to bulk bill. The Australian Psychological Society (APS)and Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPI) National Schedule of Recommended Fees for 2023-2024 is set at $300 for an individual 50-minute session. Accessible and affordable psychological care is a value of this practice and fees are set in accordance (currently $217 per 50 minutes). Despite setting fees as low as possible, the practice is aware these fees are unaffordable to some. If this is the case, please contact us to request a concession. Limited out of hours appointment times are available (these appointments are in high demand and incur an extra fee).
Rebate
Patients be eligible for a Rebate via a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) or Private Health provider, which can help offset the fee.
Assessment and Reports
Adelaide Health Psychology does not conduct formal assessments (e.g. forensic, intellectual, or cognitive assessments), or provide diagnostic, formal or third party reports.
Adelaide Health Psychology is also unable to provide letters for court purposes or to other third parties (e.g. insurance companies, Centrelink, etc.).
The focus is providing therapy to individuals, couples and families and Adelaide Health Psychology does not have the capacity to additionally write letters or reports, as providing reports and letters has the potential to interfere with the ability to provide neutral and supportive therapy services.
